Melissa Hastings

I graduated McNeese State University with a Bachelor’s degree in early childhood in 1994 and my Master’s Degree in Early Childhood in 2000.  I have been teaching in Calcasieu Parish 27 years.  I have taught Kindergarten, First Grade, Second Grade, Fourth Grade, and currently teach Pre-K.

In addition to my teaching career with the parish, I am an Early Interventionist with Louisiana Early Steps and have been employed with them for the last 11 years. I visit birth to 3 year old children in their homes and provide them special instruction with their goals on their Individual Service Plans written by the state agency.
